As long as I feel the warmth and light
Of a star that pierces the deepest night,
I will not fear the shadows that call in the dark
For You, O Jesus, outshine them all!
You’re the offspring of David’s bright Morning Star,
Whom I have gazed upon all my life
The flame of light that never dies,
Your truth, the sword that ends all my heart's strife!
Your Words descend like the morning dew,
Bringing the dawn of understanding into my heart,
Which drives away all the shadows of death
And fills my soul with endless hope and joy!
Let the darkness around me fall,
I stand in Your light and fear no pall,
My Jesus, You’re near and ever with me,
The bright Morning Star who shines in my heart!
